13 Pro Staging Tips

13 Pro Staging Tips

1. Remove Window Screens: This lets more bright natural light illuminate your home and buyers love tons of natural light.

2. Declutter Kitchen and Bathroom Counters: Remove everything! Paper towels, salt and pepper shakers, coffeemaker, toaster etc. The counters should be bare!

3. Refinish Hardwood Floors: Dull finishes, nicks and general wear and tear make your home appear older and worn. Remove imperfections and add a glossy finish to wow buyers.

4. Remove Everything From the Showers: Shampoo bottles, soaps, razors, washcloths, bath toys, etc.

5. Give Walls a Fresh Coat of Paint: This is truly one of the most impactful improvements you can make. Freshly painted walls can make your home appear newer, cleaner and also remove any lingering odors.

6. Remove Pet Items: Hide dog bowls, kitty litter boxes, and other traces of animals that can cause unwanted odors and turn off buyers.

7. Declutter Shelves: Take three-quarters of the decor on your shelves, and put it in a box. Take down all personal photos.

8. Tidy Nightstands: Remove everything except a lamp and one decor item on your nightstand.

9. Hide Power and Charging Cords: Tuck away lamp, TV and any other power cords and remove device charging cables.

10. Remove the Pool Vacuum & Pool Toys: A sparkling pool can really entice buyers. Make sure to remove all pool cleaning equipment and pool toys.

11. Spruce Up the Front of Your Home: Create a great first impression with a neatly manicured front lawn, attractive plants and flowers, consider revamping pathways and driveway if dated and adding lighting for safety during evening showings.

12. Don’t Park in the Driveway or Directly in Front of Your House: Make it easy and enjoyable for buyers to visit your home by having convenient parking in the driveway or the nearest street parking.

13. Hide Trash Cans: Make sure the buyer’s attention stays on your lovely home. Trash cans add more clutter and distract buyers from the beautiful staging you’ve chosen.
